Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised Justice Blay for his significant impact on the team, both on and off the pitch, following the midfielder’s contract extension with the club until 2026.
Blay’s previous deal was set to expire in January 2025, but the new agreement ensures the 32-year-old’s continued presence at Kotoko, a player whose experience and leadership have been vital to the team’s success.
“Justice offers so much to the team, both on and off the field. His contract extension is fantastic news for all of us,” Ogum commented.
Blay initially joined Kotoko on loan from Medeama SC during the 2019/2020 season, where he quickly made his mark with two goals in 12 appearances. His consistent performances earned him a permanent move to the club in the 2021/2022 season, and he has since become an integral part of Kotoko’s midfield, amassing 56 league appearances.
This season, Blay has played in 12 of the 15 Ghana Premier League matches, scoring once. Known for his leadership, resilience, and work ethic, he continues to be a fan favorite and a key player for the team.
The contract extension solidifies Kotoko’s midfield, ensuring Blay’s invaluable experience and influence remain at the heart of the team’s pursuit of their goals.
