Head of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, has praised Justice Blay following his contract extension, emphasizing the midfielder’s significant role at Asante Kotoko.
Blay, who signed a one-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday, is seen by the club not just as a player but as a leader and a symbol of the values Kotoko represents. Nana Apinkra expressed his delight at the extension, stating, “Justice is not just a player; he’s a leader and a symbol of what Kotoko stands for. We’re thrilled he’s chosen to continue this journey with us.”
Blay’s new contract reflects his commitment and dedication to Kotoko’s long-term goals. Renowned for his leadership, passion, and strong presence in midfield, Blay has become a beloved figure among fans and teammates alike.
The 24-year-old initially joined Kotoko on loan from Medeama SC in the 2019/2020 season, making an immediate impact with two goals in 12 appearances. His solid performances earned him a permanent move to the club in the 2021/2022 season, and since then, he has become an integral part of the team, amassing 56 league appearances.
This season, Blay has continued to showcase his talents, contributing in 12 Ghana Premier League matches and scoring one goal.
