Former Asante Kotoko NCC Chairman Kwaku Amponsah, has taken a swipe at the club’s manager Seydou Zerbo, insisting the Burkinabe international hasn’t done any extraordinary job at the club since his appoint last year.
Zerbo, 59, replaced 2012/22 League winner Dr. Prosper Nartah Ogum who currently is an assistant coach to Black Galaxies manager Annor Walker.
According to him, the gaffer hasn’t added anything significant to the the team’s performance. He has there, urged him to up his game to make the club a force to reckon with in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
His comment comes in the back of the Porcuoine Warriors uninspiring performance in their Ghana Premier League matchday 11 1-1 draw stalemate against Accra Great Olympics on Sunday 8th January, 2023 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“I have been an advocate for our fans to calm down and have patience for the coach because we still have more games ahead but it seems a bit difficult to tolerate it.
“Our players are good individually but it seems they are declining. Our captain Richard Boadu is losing form, and some other players are not improving,” Kwaku Amponsah told Akoma FM.
The former NCC Chairman added, “He (Zerbo) must improve his performance and that of our players. I will still appeal for a lot more patience for coach but if he continues like this, then I’m afraid management should get rid of him because of his declining performance.”
Asante Kotoko are currently third on the Ghana Premier League table and have also booked qualification to the Round 32 stage of the MTN FA Cup.
