Asante Kotoko SC have been fined GHS 10,000 and issued with a stern warning by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee following misconduct during their Ghana Premier League encounter against Medeama SC.
The sanction relates to the league fixture played in November 2025 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, a match in which Kotoko scored two late goals to snatch a dramatic draw.
In its ruling, the GFA stated that Kotoko failed to ensure the safety and security of match officials. The club was also found guilty of allowing supporters to threaten and attack officials, while unauthorised persons were permitted access to restricted areas, including the players’ tunnel.
The Disciplinary Committee warned that any repeat of such misconduct could attract harsher sanctions, including stiffer fines or further punitive measures.
Kotoko have been directed to pay the GHS 10,000 fine within fourteen (14) days of receiving formal notification of the decision.
