Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya is eager to add a new dimension to his game in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign, with a goal-scoring target of 10 goals for the Porcupine Warriors.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who has been one of the few players to remain at Kotoko following the club’s massive clear-out, is desperate to make a meaningful impact in the upcoming season.
Speaking to the media, Yahaya admitted that he didn’t meet his own expectations in his debut campaign with Kotoko, but is determined to improve his performance.
“I couldn’t put myself up last season. This season, I am hoping to score at least 10 goals for Kotoko. I’m working hard to achieve this target,” he said.
Asante Kotoko are currently preparing for the 2024/25 campaign, having already secured two wins in their preseason friendly games. The team will take on Medeama on Friday as part of the inauguration of the newly built TNA Park in Tarkwa.
Kotoko will begin their Premier League campaign against Karela United, and Yahaya’s goal-scoring target will be a crucial factor in determining the team’s success.
