Kwesi Nyantakyi has called on the Black Stars technical team to set aside emotions and consider inviting Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi for Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Ghana Football Association President said national team selection should be based purely on quality and performance, stressing that any eligible Ghanaian capable of delivering results deserves an opportunity. He noted that personal feelings and past allegiance debates should not stand in the way of strengthening the squad.
According to him, emotional reactions surrounding players who previously represented other countries should not override the ultimate goal of success at the World Cup. He maintained that the focus must remain on players who can compete at the highest level and positively impact the team.
Eddie Nketiah, who has limited appearances for England, has been in good form this season with Crystal Palace, while Callum Hudson-Odoi has also impressed with consistent performances for Nottingham Forest.
Ghana, who have secured qualification for the tournament, will begin their Group L campaign against Panama before facing England and Croatia in subsequent matches.
