David Ocloo, the Deputy coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, has provided an injury update on some of the team’s players ahead of their upcoming match against Kotoku Royals on Sunday.
While the club has yet to confirm its match squad, the potential return of these players could be a significant boost for the team before the international break.
Ocloo noted that captain Gladson Awako has missed the team’s last three games and his return remains uncertain, as the medical team is still working on his recovery. However, Gideon Asante has returned to training, while Robert Addo Sowah is currently receiving treatment for an injury. Dennis Korsah is also back doing light training.
“We really miss our captain [Awako]. The medical team are working on him. We just pray that he will be recovered soon. Gideon Asante is back to training. Addo is also on the injury list. He is receiving treatment. Korsah is also back doing some light training. I just pray they all get fit for Sunday’s match but we are good to go,” Ocloo said in an interview with the club’s communication team.
The Hearts of Oak will host Kotoku Royals at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 22 of the BetPawa Premier League. The Rainbows will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars in their previous game. Currently, Hearts of Oak are in fourth place, while Kotoku Royals are struggling in 18th place after 21 games.
