Legon Cities are actively working to strengthen their squad ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League and have set their sights on securing former Asante Kotoko winger Emmanuel Gyamfi during the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having established himself as a prominent figure in Ghanaian football during his five-year stint with Asante Kotoko from 2016 to 2021. Gyamfi not only captained the Porcupine Warriors at one point but also played a crucial role in their FA Cup triumph in 2017.
After leaving Kotoko, Gyamfi joined Aduana Stars, where he spent three seasons. In the previous campaign, he made 25 league appearances, contributing five goals and two assists.
Currently a free agent, Gyamfi is reportedly in advanced talks with Legon Cities, with both parties nearing an agreement. The Royals are keen to finalize the deal swiftly to integrate the versatile attacker into their plans for the second half of the season.
Gyamfi, eager to return to competitive action, is seen as a key addition to Legon Cities’ quest to improve their league standing.
