Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku marked his return from suspension with a stellar performance, earning the man of the match title as Leicester City secured an emphatic 5-0 victory over Stoke City in the English Championship on Saturday.
Despite missing the previous three Championship matches, Issahaku played a pivotal role for the Foxes by delivering the crucial assist for the opening goal at the King Power Stadium.
The 19-year-old showcased his versatility by providing four key passes and contributing with three outstanding tackles, securing his well-deserved spot in the prestigious Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week.
Issahaku shares the accolade with Leicester City teammate Wout Faes, alongside Huddersfield Town’s Josh Koroma, Ben Wiles, and Jonathan Hogg. Other notable inclusions are Jak Alnwnk of Cardiff City, Kieffer Moore of Ipswich, and Preston’s Will Keane, along with Norwich’s Josh Sargent.
Having consistently featured in the Team of the Week, Issahaku’s impactful performances may lead Leicester City to consider making his loan deal permanent at the conclusion of the season.
His absence from the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, following reports of declining an invitation from Chris Hughton, hasn’t diminished the young Ghanaian international’s influence on the Championship stage.
