Under the guidance of new coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu, King Faisal Babes secured their first victory in the Ghana Premier League after coming from behind to beat Dreams FC 2-1 at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on Sunday afternoon.
The Insha Allah Boys showed great determination to claim maximum points in the matchday 26 fixture and ignite their fight against relegation. After last week’s victory over Aduana Stars in the FA Cup, Faisal came into the game with full confidence.
Osei-Fosu made four changes to the team that beat league leaders Aduana Stars, with Benjamin Asiedu returning to the goalposts, Samuel Boakye and Suraj Ibrahim replacing Benjamin Bature and Abdul Latif, who were injured and suspended, respectively.
The deadlock was broken in the 10th minute when Mohammed Abubakar scored a beautiful drive from outside the box to give Dreams the lead.
However, Baba Yahaya drew King Faisal level in the 38th minute with a fine finish following a melee in front of the goal.
The winning goal came in stoppage time through substitute Fatao Mohammed, lifting King Faisal to the 10th position on the league standings while Dreams remained in the relegation zone.
