Head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Ibrahim Tanko, has revealed that his side will still be pushing for maximum points when they face Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club in their final Ghana Premier League match of the season this weekend.

The newly crowned league champions will travel to the capital to take on Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 24, in a highly-anticipated Week 34 encounter.

Although Medeama have already secured the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, Tanko insists his team has no intention of slowing down and will approach the game with the same seriousness and determination that guided them to league success.

Speaking ahead of the clash, the former Black Stars assistant coach admitted that Hearts of Oak remain a difficult side to play against and expects another competitive contest between the two clubs.

“Even when we played them here, we didn’t find it easy to beat them. It was a tactical game. Now we have won the league, so we are going there with no pressure. We are going to play our normal game with the hope that we will get our three points,” Ibrahim Tanko said in an interview with Medi TV.

Tanko’s comments reflect Medeama’s ambition to finish the season strongly despite already being crowned champions. The Tarkwa-based club has enjoyed a remarkable campaign under his leadership, displaying consistency, tactical discipline, and resilience throughout the season.

The fixture is expected to attract huge attention, with Hearts of Oak aiming to end their campaign on a positive note in front of their home supporters, while Medeama seek to continue their impressive run and celebrate their title-winning season in style.

The encounter also presents another opportunity for Medeama players to maintain momentum ahead of their coronation celebrations later in the week.

Following the Hearts of Oak clash, Medeama will return to Tarkwa where they are scheduled to host in an official coronation match at the TnA Stadium on Wednesday, May 27.

The coronation game is expected to be a festive occasion for Medeama supporters after the club’s outstanding league triumph, with fans preparing to celebrate one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history.

Sunday’s match at the Accra Sports Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm.
