Salim Adams announced himself on the international stage with an encouraging performance for the Ghana national football team during their 2-0 defeat to Mexico national football team in an international friendly played on Saturday.
The highly-rated Medeama Sporting Club midfielder earned his first senior appearance for Ghana as the Black Stars continued preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Although Ghana suffered defeat at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc, Salim Adams emerged as one of the bright spots for the Black Stars following a lively and composed display after coming off the bench in the second half.
The midfielder was introduced in the 76th minute as a replacement for Emmanuel Agyei and quickly settled into the game with confidence despite the difficult circumstances against a strong Mexican side.
