Joseph Tetteh Zutah, the General Captain of Medeama SC has expressed confidence in the club’s financial capabilities to participate in the CAF Champions League in the upcoming season.
As the reigning premier league champions, the Mauve and Yellow will represent Ghana in CAF’s prestigious club competition.
Zutah, who has dedicated several years to serving the two-time FA Cup champions, discussed the team’s readiness in an interview with Radio Gold Sports.
“We are really prepared, we know that if we win the league we are capable of representing the country in Africa whether it’s the Confederation Cup, whether it’s the Champions League.
“I spoke to the [club] president a couple of times and he is really much interested. There are some mining companies around, our sponsors are also offering us some support”
“So I know that financial we will be able to compete, this is not the first time, I think we have played twice the Confederation Cup.
Zutah also expressed his belief that the Ghana Football Association would offer support when they reach the continental stage, saying, “And so we know what it takes to represent the country and I’m also sue that the Ghana Football Association when we get there will also try supporting us so hopefully we can.” Joseph Zutah told Radio Gold Sports.
Medeama secured the premier league title by accumulating 60 points, surpassing two-time champions Aduana Stars by a margin of five points after 34 games in the BetPawa Premier League.
