Mohamed Aboutrika’s son, Ahmed Aboutrika, has made his debut for Al Arabi in their defeat against Al Gharafa on Friday.
The Qatar Stars League made its return on Friday after being suspended for more than four months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Al Arabi’s return to football was met with a 1-0 defeat to Al Gharafa as Ivory Coast international Jonathan Kodjia scored the only goal of the game in the first half.
The game witnessed Ahmed Aboutrika make his debut after coming on in place of Aron Gunnarsson in the 79th minute.
The 19-year-old was part of Al Arabi’s U-23 setup this season before the Qatar Football Association decided to end the Qatargas U-23 League.
He was then called up to Al Arabi’s first-team squad for their training camp last month after impressing with the U-23s.
