Former Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe has charged Ghanaian professional footballers to be united as they seek for better welfare from club owners in the country.
Tagoe was part of the twenty-one Ghanaian footballers who were stranded in Ethiopia after the soccer season was cancelled due to the Covid-19.
“Fellow Ghanaian footballers (Male & Female)Let’s all speak one language for our welfare and the betterment of our football” Muntari Tagoe tweeted on Monday whilst tagging the Ghana FA and the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
The poor welfare of local footballers has been a major reason for player exodus over the years something that has not stopped because as of the year not less than twenty Ghanaian footballers were playing their trade professionally in a lesser football country like Ethiopia whose clubs offer better deals to players.
