Ghana international Felix Afena-Gyan has admitted he failed to achieve the targets he set for himself after joining US Cremonese last summer.
The 20-year-old signed for Cremonese after just a year with AS Roma where he won the Conference League at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Afena-Gyan failed to make real impact for Cremonese in the Italian Serie as he only started seven games and made 16 substitute appearances last season.
According to him, he had objectives he was looking to achieve but that didn’t happen.
“It was a very tough season for me because I couldn’t meet my targets. How I planned to face [the season], I couldn’t make it,” he said in an interview with Saddick Adams.
“My goal was to be part of the top scorers and get some number of goals but unfortunately it couldn’t happen so it was very tough.”
Cremonese suffered relegation at the end of the season and will play in the Serie A B next season.
