Nations FC head coach Kasim Mingle has attributed his team’s 2-1 victory over Aduana Stars to being the superior team on the field.
The newly promoted team beat the league leaders in the week 14 clash at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, marking Nations FC’s fifth consecutive victory since their debut in the Premier League.
The home team took control of the match when Barimah Baah found the net in the 45th minute, leading them into halftime with a crucial advantage. The momentum continued in the second half as Nafiu Sulemana extended the host’s lead just two minutes after the restart. Aduana Stars, however, managed to narrow the margin in injury time, with Justus Torsutsey reducing the deficit.
Anticipating the challenge posed by Aduana Stars, Coach Mingle had forewarned about the difficulty of the match due to Aduana Stars’ league-leading position. He acknowledged the on-paper advantage of the opponents but confidently asserted, “the better side will win,” emphasizing that Nations FC indeed proved to be the superior team, securing the well-deserved victory.
With this result, Nations FC currently stands at the 5th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 23 points. Meanwhile, Aduana Stars, despite the setback, maintains a strong standing, occupying the second spot with 24 points. The win not only propels Nations FC up the league table but also solidifies their position as a formidable force in their debut season in the Premier League.
