Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey says he is excited about the prospect of playing in the Europa League next season following their sixth-place finish in the Premier League.
Brighton booked a place in the competition following their 1-1 draw against Manchester City in their penultimate game in the English top flight. An appearance in the Europa League will be Brighton’s first season in Europe in the club’s history and Tariq says he is looking forward to what should be a ‘big season’ for the Seagulls.
“The boys have had a fantastic season and we are really happy,” the 23-year-old told the media on Tuesday.
“We will now go and rest and recover for next season because it’s a big season. Lots of games and I think it will be fun.”
The Black Stars defender was limited to three starts from his 20 Premier League appearances in the just-ended season and is currently out with an injury.
