Nsoatreman Football Club has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Asante Kotoko supporter Polley, who was fatally stabbed during Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League clash against Nsoatreman FC on Sunday.
In an official statement, the club extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire Asante Kotoko fraternity.
“Nsoatreman Football Club extends its profound condolences to the entire Ghanaian sporting fraternity, particularly Kumasi Asante Kotoko, and the family of the deceased supporter, who tragically lost his life near Professor Amoah Koromansah II Stadium during a league game against the Kumasi-based giants this afternoon,” the statement read.
The club also strongly condemned the act of violence and assured full cooperation with law enforcement authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
“Nsoatreman FC wishes to categorically condemn this act of violence in no uncertain terms. We will fully cooperate with the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Football Association to ensure that the perpetrator of this crime is brought to justice,” the statement added.
Nsoatreman FC’s pledge to assist with investigations comes amid growing concerns over security at league matches, with calls for stricter measures to prevent future incidents of violence in Ghanaian football.
