Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Galatasaray S.K. has secured the services of Ghanaian left-back Derrick Kohn on a two-year contract from German Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96.
The 25-year-old finalized the deal with the Rams Park team after successfully completing his mandatory medical examinations earlier today.
Upon capturing the former Bayern Munich II player, the Istanbul-based club revealed that they have the option to extend their contractual agreement with him for an additional year after its initial expiration.
The club’s official statement reads: “An agreement has been reached with professional football player Derrick Arthur Köhn and his club Hannover 96 GmbH&Co KGA regarding the transfer of the player. Accordingly, a transfer fee of 3,350,000 euros and a conditional bonus of 300,000 euros will be paid to the player’s former club.”
“A contract has been signed with the football player until the end of the 2025/2026 season, and our company has the option to extend it until the end of the 2027/2028 season.”
“Accordingly, our football player will be paid a net seasonal fee of 300,000 euros for the 2023/2024 season, a net 450,000 euros for the 2024/2025 season, and a net 500,000 euros for the 2025/2026 season, as well as a one-time signing fee of 50,000 euros.”
Expressing his excitement about joining the Turkish giants, Kohn stated: “Signing for such a big club is a very big and special thing for me. I can’t wait to get on the field as soon as possible, meet our fans, and give everything for the club. We discussed the transfer with my friends, friends, and family. Everyone knows that Galatasaray is a very big club. I know too. It’s an honor to be here. Wearing this jersey is very valuable to me.”
Despite representing the Germany U19 national youth team, Kohn remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage.
