The German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was praised by the world of football following his goalkeeping performance in the final match of the UEFA Champions League between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain but former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Mutawakilu Seidu believes Richard “Olele’ Kingson was a better goalkeeper.
According to Seidu who is currently plying his trade at Nigeria top-flight side Enugu Rangers , the former Black Stars number one was underrated during his peak and will always rate him over goalkeeping legends like World Cup winners Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Buffon.
“My all time best goalkeeper will be Richard Kingson.” Seidu is quoted to have told Awake Television.
“For Manuel Neuer and Buffon they have all the facilities and environment and that is why they are still playing . But for me Richard Kingson is my all time best goalkeeper (over Neuer, Buffon, etc)” Mutawakilu explained his opinion.
“Olele did well with the national team and for a Black goalkeeper to to play outside for so many years I think he he did well” the former Kotoko goalkeeper added.
