Midfielder Thomas Partey has praised Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, stating that he possesses the best ideas to guide the team to success.
Addo, 45, was reappointed in March on a 34-month contract with an option to extend for another 24 months, following his successful qualification campaign for the 2022 World Cup.
Since his return, Addo has revitalized the Black Stars, leading them to crucial back-to-back victories over Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, bolstering Ghana’s hopes of reaching the tournament after a difficult start.
Ahead of Ghana’s opening matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Partey lauded the coach’s approach and leadership.
“He [Otto Addo] has his ideas, makes them very clear, and ensures everyone knows the plan. The technical team is always ready to support him. He has experience, having played for this team, and knows what we need. We all have to follow him because he has the best ideas,” Partey told SuperSport.
Ghana will face Angola in their first Group F match today at the Baba Yara Stadium, before traveling to Berkane to play Niger on Monday, September 9, for their second group game.
