Alexander Ababio, the Chief Executive Officer of Bofoakwa Tano, has emphasized the club’s objective to retain their position in the Ghana Premier League after an absence of 16 years.
Bofoakwa Tano, who suffered relegation during the 2006/2007 season, successfully earned promotion back to the topflight by defeating Eleven Wonders in a penalty shootout at the Accra Sports Stadium during the playoffs.
With their return to the premier league, Bofoakwa Tano is now focused on the upcoming 2023/24 league season. The club has outlined plans to restructure their technical team and strengthen the squad in order to compete at the highest level of Ghanaian football.
Ababio emphasized the significance of enhancing the technical team by appointing a new coach. He revealed that Fuseini Abubakari, who guided the club to promotion, lacks the required documentation to continue coaching in the GPL (Ghana Premier League).
As a result, Abubakari has left the club, and the announcement of a new head coach is expected on Tuesday, July 11th.
“Our first target is to maintain our premier league status. Our coach who qualified us to the premier league is not qualified to coach in the Ghana premier league. He has left. By Tuesday, we will sign a new coach” – CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, Alexander Ababio on Kessben Sports.
Bofoakwa Tano is determined to make their mark in the Ghana Premier League, utilizing a revamped technical team and a strengthened squad to navigate the challenges of top-tier competition. Their ultimate goal is to establish a strong presence and secure their position in the league, marking a successful return after their long hiatus.
