Ousmane Dembele is ‘happier than ever’ at Barcelona because of the arrival of good friend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and is unlikely to pen fresh terms in Catalonia.
There had been suggestions that his reluctance to sign a new deal would see him be frozen out of Xavi’s squad, but he has returned to the fold and looks a key player once again.
And according to Sport, Dembele is very satisfied with life right now. The presence of Aubameyang – who he played with during his one season at Borussia Dortmund – means that the winger now has a close friend that he can lean on, with neither said to be a negative influence in a dressing room full of young players.
Dembele is also growing closer with those youngsters and maintains a bond with the French-speaking contingent at Barça, while he has also been praised for not reacting badly to the public fallout over his contract situation.
However, despite this progression, it still remains likely that Dembele will leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
90min reports that Chelsea and PSG have been keeping tabs on the situation even before the transfer deadline for the January window.
