Italian Serie B team Palermo is actively pursuing Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Gyasi as they aim to bolster their squad for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Palermo’s sporting director, Fabio Lucioni, is currently engaged in advanced negotiations with Gyasi’s current club, Spezia, with the intention of securing the transfer of the team’s captain.
While discussions have progressed, it’s important to note that there are still significant details to be sorted out before the deal can be officially completed.
According to Footballghana.com, both Palermo and Spezia are aware that there is a considerable distance to cover before reaching a final agreement.
Gyasi, who played a prominent role for Spezia in the recently concluded season, made a total of 35 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
Unfortunately, despite his contributions, Spezia was unable to avoid relegation from the Italian Serie A.
In their relegation playoff against Hellas Verona, Spezia suffered defeat, confirming their relegation to Serie B.
Gyasi’s current contract with Spezia is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
