Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi scored for Beitar Jerusalem in their 4-3 loss to SC Ashdod during the third round of the Israeli Toto Cup on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Twumasi’s goal came from a late penalty, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory for his team at the Yud-Alef Stadium.

Beitar Jerusalem initially took the lead when Yarden Shua scored from the penalty spot after just 21 minutes. Dor Micha extended their lead three minutes later, giving Beitar Jerusalem a 2-0 advantage. However, Adir Levi scored for the hosts in the 31st minute, bringing the score to 2-1 by halftime.

The second half saw Ravid Abergel equalize for Ashdod five minutes after the break. Stav Nachmani then gave Ashdod the lead in the 68th minute. Abergel added his second goal of the match in the 85th minute, making it 4-2. Twumasi scored Beitar Jerusalem’s third goal just two minutes later, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 4-3 defeat.

Following this loss, Beitar Jerusalem remains in second place in Group B, with three points from two matches.
