PUMA, the official kit sponsor of the Black Stars, has introduced a new line of fanwear in anticipation of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Ghanaian national team will don a fresh jersey, which fans can also proudly wear, created by the renowned German sportswear company.
This attire not only features the vibrant colors of the Ghanaian flag but also pays tribute to the nation’s rich heritage by incorporating intricate ‘kente’ patterns into the design.
These kente strips symbolize Ghana’s traditions and culture while highlighting the strength of its people.
The fanwear collection offers a variety of designs and styles, predominantly featuring the red, yellow, and green hues of the Ghanaian flag.
During the unveiling event, several of Ghana’s top football stars, including Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Kudus, and Baba Iddrisu, were seen donning the new fanwear, showcasing their excitement and support for this exciting release.
Ghana’s last AFCON victory was in 1982, a time when none of the current players were born. Nevertheless, the Black Stars have reached the tournament’s final in 1992, 2010, and 2015, and they have secured numerous semi-final berths over the years.
For the upcoming tournament, Ghana has been drawn into Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
The 34th edition of the AFCON is scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
