On the 7th of August 1983, Samuel Opoku Nti etched his name in the books of history when he scored the fastest hattrick against bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak
Three goals downs to Accra Hearts of Oak in the first half with a brace from Emmanuel Botchwey and Sam Yeboah at the then Kumasi Sports Stadium, Samuel Opoku Nti did the unthinkable scoring the fastest hattrick in 6 minutes to put the game even with the Phobian’s. However, as it was meant to be, Hesse Odamten broke the heart of the Porcupine Warriors when he scored the winner in the 76th minute.
Dubbed the Unmissable MTN FA Cup final “Obia Nye Obia” finals in Tamale, Accra Hearts of Oak took on Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup final.
The Match which had received a lot of hype did not disappoint as it exhibited glamour and excitement to the fans at the Tamale Sports Stadium as well as the numerous fans watching on television.
Former Athletico Madrid B player, Sadick Adams stole the show with a fantastic hat-trick in the first half against a tough Phobian side which had the likes of Captain Thomas Abbey, Winful Cobbinah, Vincent Atingah, malik Akowuah and Kwame kizito. Sadick Adams was unplayable in the final when he even rounded up goal keeper Ben Mensah to finish this Hattrick.
“Before the game I knew I was going to score at least three because I had a chat with one of our players before our league game with Berekum Chelsea and he told me he has asked God to give me four goals before the season ends. I scored one against Medeama so I knew the three would come against Hearts,” the burley striker said after the game.
