Samuel Inkoom, the defender for Hearts of Oak, acknowledges that his teammates consistently train to improve their goal-scoring abilities but admit that they have fallen short of fans’ expectations this season.
The Oak Tree has faced criticism from football supporters due to their inability to score goals, particularly from their strikers.
Coach David Ocloo, who was the assistant coach when the team secured a 1-0 victory against Accra Lions, expressed his concern about the team’s goal-scoring struggles, highlighting it as the major problem for the club.
Samuel Inkoom, in his conversation with Max TV, stated, “I don’t want to say too much about it, but honestly, we have been working on goal-scoring during our training sessions at Pobiman”
“The coaches are doing everything they can. Sometimes in football, these things happen. It doesn’t mean we lack good strikers. It doesn’t mean our players aren’t skilled. I believe the goals will come.”
Hearts of Oak’s leading goal-scorers this season are defender Caleb Amankwah and midfielder Benjamin Yorke, both with four goals apiece.
