German club SC Weiche Flensburg 08 have announced the signing of Ghanaian young goalkeeper Ronny Seibt in the ongoing Winter transfer window. The 20-year-old joins the club from Hamburg.

The young goalkeeper, who was trained in the youth academy of FC St. Pauli, had been without a club since leaving Croatian club HNK Vukovar 1991 after just a few weeks.

Sport Managing Director Dominique Natusch of SC Weiche Flensburg 08 said this regarding the club’s former players Florian Kirschke and Jesper Heim:

“We had to react in this position. With talents who have come through the FC St. Pauli goalkeeping school, we have only had positive experiences. We are convinced that it will be no different with Ronny Seibt.”

Head coach Tim Wulff is relieved that the transfer went through and that, in addition to Nils Bock, he now has a second goalkeeper permanently available for training sessions and the remaining 13 league games.

The former professional said: “After Christian Rust’s injury-related absence, we absolutely had to do something about the goalkeeper position. I’m glad that we were able to sign Ronny Seibt, a goalkeeper who already has experience in our league and is ambitious. This could become a win-win situation for him and for us.” Our coach sees no problems in the acclimatization of the goalkeeper, who has been seeking playing practice since April 2025.

Tim Wulff: “He will join our training immediately and, depending on the circumstances, will also take part in the Hall Masters in Kiel on Saturday. We have more than a month in total, so he can get to know his new team. During the preparation, he will of course have the opportunity in test matches to show that he is an asset to us.”

Meanwhile, Ronny Seibt is also plaeased to have signed for the club. “SC Weiche is a really good address in the Regionalliga Nord. I haven’t had an easy time lately, and I am very happy that the club is giving me the chance to prove myself. Now it’s about getting to know the guys better and integrating myself into the team.” And the young Hamburger continues: “Everything happened quite quickly. Contact was only made over the weekend. But I didn’t need long to think about this step.”

Ronny Boamah Seibt, born on July 10, 2005, has the important height for a goalkeeper of 1.91 m at a weight of 81 kg. On October 18, 2024, he was in the matchday squad of the Hamburg team during the away game of the then Bundesliga newcomer FC St. Pauli in the 1-2 defeat at Signal Iduna Park against Borussia Dortmund. Otherwise, he was active in the U23 of the Kiez club, making his debut there in the 2-1 home win against Blau-Weiß Lohne on September 8, 2024. He played eight more games in the Regionalliga Nord. He had his last appearance on April 17, 2025, in a 1-3 defeat at Werder Bremen II. He also guarded the goal on the 20th.

In October 2024, he scored for the brown-and-white talents in the 2-2 draw in Norderstedt against Weiche. Ronny Seibt had taken his first steps on the football field with Concordia Hamburg before moving to the FC St. Pauli youth academy in 2019.

There, he made the jump from the U19 to the U23 team in the summer of 2024. After a season with the Regionalliga team of the Kiez club, he joined the first-division promoted HNK Vukovar 1991 in September 2025. However, his stint in Croatia ended after just a few weeks. Since then, the young goalkeeper has been looking for a club.
