South African Premier League side SuperSport United has strengthened its attacking lineup with the signing of highly-rated Ghanaian winger Enoch Quaicoe on a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old has inked a two-year contract with the Pretoria-based club, which includes an option for a one-year extension. The move was finalized after Quaicoe passed his medical examination on Tuesday.
Quaicoe joins SuperSport United from Togolese champions ASKO de Kara, where he played a vital role in the club’s back-to-back league triumphs during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. Renowned for his blistering pace, technical skills, and goal-scoring ability, Quaicoe was a key figure in ASKO’s dominance of Togolese football.
SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has expressed excitement over the signing, emphasizing Quaicoe’s potential to inject creativity and firepower into the team’s attack. “Enoch is an exciting player who fits perfectly into our system. We believe he can be a game-changer for us,” Hunt stated.
Currently competing at the top end of South Africa’s premier league, SuperSport United views Quaicoe’s addition as a strategic move to bolster their squad for both domestic and continental competitions.
Speaking about his move, Quaicoe shared his enthusiasm for the challenge ahead. “I’m thrilled to join SuperSport United. The South African league is very competitive, and I’m ready to contribute to the club’s success,” he said.
SuperSport fans will be eager to see their new recruit in action as the club pushes to achieve its ambitious targets this season.
