Southampton manager Martin Russell has provided an optimistic update on Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, revealing that the player is in top condition to make his return from injury as the 2024-2025 Premier League season heads into its busy Christmas schedule.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Southampton’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday, November 24, Russell confirmed that Sulemana is fully fit and ready to contribute.
The winger, who recently made his comeback from a lengthy injury layoff just before the last international break, will be eager to help his side as they look to improve their fortunes.
“Liverpool are currently top of the league, and we know it won’t be easy,” Russell said, with the Saints languishing at the bottom of the table with just one win from 11 matches. “However, both Ryan Fraser and Kamaldeen are back properly now, and everything else is pretty much the same.”
Sulemana, who joined Southampton after a spell at Stade Rennes, has made two Premier League appearances this season and registered an assist in his sole EFL Cup outing.
