Former Asante Kotoko midfielder and current assistant coach of Heart of Lions, Daniel Nii Adjei, has urged Kotoko fans to remain steadfast in their support despite recent setbacks in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors fell to a 1-0 defeat against Heart of Lions on matchday 9 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, a result that marked their second consecutive loss and ended their unbeaten home streak this season. Kwadwo Obeng Jnr’s decisive goal secured the win for the visitors in a tightly contested match.
In a post-match interview, Nii Adjei called on Kotoko’s supporters to rally behind the team, emphasizing the importance of unity during challenging times.
“I encourage the fans to support the team, especially when things get tough. The players don’t go out to lose intentionally—they miss out on bonuses and it affects their morale,” he told Kessben FM, as reported by Ghanasoccernet.com.
“As fans, we should uplift the players during difficult moments and not abandon them. Let’s keep supporting the team,” he added.
Following the defeat, Asante Kotoko has slipped to third in the league standings with 15 points. The team will seek redemption in their upcoming fixture against Bechem United as they work to regain momentum in the league.
