Tema Youth midfielder, Richmond Darko, has set for himself a giant target of playing in Europe and winning the fashionable UEFA Champions League in the next ten years.
The youngster has been incredibly fantastic since joining the former Ghana Premier League club, making 13 caps and netting five goals to underline a pleasing debut season.
The 18-year-old budding midfielder joined Tema Youth from Kotoko Babies – a colts club in Kumasi.
Darko, who models his game after Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, dreams of winning Europe’s prestigious trophy.
“I want to play in Europe and win the [UEFA] Champions League,” he told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.
Just a handful of Ghanaian players have had the chance to win the ‘big-eared’ trophy with Abedi Ayew, Ibrahim Tanko, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Sulley Ali Muntari and Michael Essien being the only Ghanaians to have won the UEFA Champions League.
