Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has attributed the struggles of the Black Stars to poor management rather than spiritual factors.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Hot FM on Tuesday, he emphasized the importance of strategic planning and collaboration in addressing the team’s recent challenges.
“The problem with the Black Stars is poor management, not spiritual forces,” Nyantakyi stated, dismissing claims that supernatural issues are to blame for the team’s underperformance. He called for a clear roadmap that outlines specific goals and objectives to steer the team toward success.
Nyantakyi also highlighted the crucial role of synergy between the management committee and the technical team. “There should be a proper plan for the team. The management committee and the coach must work closely to implement it,” he explained.
His remarks come at a time when the Black Stars have faced criticism for underwhelming performances in recent international competitions. Nyantakyi, who led the GFA from 2005 to 2018, played a pivotal role in guiding Ghana to three consecutive FIFA World Cup appearances from 2006 to 2014, making his insights particularly significant.
As Ghana prepares for key qualifying matches in the months ahead, Nyantakyi’s advice underscores the need for strong leadership and effective planning to restore the Black Stars to their former glory.
