The duo will compete against some of Africa’s finest, including Senegal’s Sadio Mané, Egyptian and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, Kenyan striker Michael Olunga, and defending African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, who helped Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League.
Other nominees include South Africa’s Percy Tau, Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Ivorian defender Eric Bailly, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, and Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana.
Also on the list are Ivory Coast’s Franck Kessié, Young Africans (Yanga SC) midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, and Mamelodi Sundowns & Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
