Ghanaian international Thomas Partey is set to be sidelined for the remainder of 2023 due to a thigh injury, following a surgical procedure to assess the extent of the damage.
The 30-year-old’s absence raises concerns about his participation in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, scheduled for January.
Partey, who recently recovered from a groin injury, played in Ghana’s friendlies against Mexico and the USA in October.
The Arsenal midfielder’s last appearance for his club was in a league match against Manchester City.
Unfortunately, he will miss upcoming World Cup qualifiers and several Arsenal fixtures, including league games and Champions League encounters.
