Social media tributes flow as Ghanaian reacts to the death of the legendary footballer, Joe Debrah.

Joe Debrah’s death was reported by former Black Stars defender, Anthony Baffoe who also doubles as the General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).

Anthony Baffoe in a post on X formerly Twitter cited by Sportsworldghana posted a picture of the legend telling the world that he has passed.

“Joe Debrah Asante Kotoko and Ghana Legend has passed, Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return. rest well Big Joe..please
Let’s take care of our health since we don’t know of tomorrow,” he wrote.

Joe Debrah was widely known for his intense rivalry with the late Accra Hearts of Oak superstar, Shomo Quaye in the early 1990s.

Joe Debrah (Kotoko) v Shamo Quaye (Hearts) formed perhaps the greatest star rivalry on the local scene in the nineties.
