Ghana international, Christian Atsu, has been found after being trapped under rubble for long hours due to the earthquake in Turkey.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, claiming hundreds of lives in Turkey and Syria.
Hatay was one of the places affected by the earthquake and is also the place of residence for the Ghanaian who plays for Hatayspor.
The player was reported to be under rubble together with club director Taner Savut and an interpreter following the earthquake.
Reports of Atsu being trapped went viral with some of his national teammates sending best wishes to the player while the Ghana Football Association as well as other government officials also said prayers for him.
However, the latest developments indicate the forward has been rescued and is alive.
Atsu has reportedly been taken to the hospital where he is expected to receive treatment in the coming hours.
Atsu joined Hatayspor in the summer and scored his first goal for the club on Sunday night – just hours before the disaster which has devastated Turkey.
