Davide Ballardini, the coach of U.S Cremonese, has urged Felix Afena-Gyan, the Ghanaian forward, to enhance his performance.
Afena-Gyan, who joined from AS Roma, was introduced in the second half of their match against Verona on Sunday at the Stadio Giovanni Zini but has struggled to make an impact.
Ballardini refrained from criticizing the 20-year-old for his slow start, but emphasized the need for him to improve his game. “He is a young player in his first year with a Serie A team, and while he has made many appearances, he clearly needs to improve significantly,” Ballardini said, as reported by sosfanta.calciomercato.com.
“You signed him because he has admirable qualities such as speed and agility, and the technical and tactical aspects will improve gradually. If he improves, he can become a very intriguing prospect due to his qualities. But in Serie A, you must be prepared, and if you’re not, it becomes apparent,” the coach added.
Afena-Gyan has played in 24 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals.
