Asante Kotoko’s coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance despite their 2-1 defeat to Gold Stars on Saturday.
The Miners secured their first Premier League victory over Kotoko at Dun’s Park on September 23, 2023, thanks to goals from Prince Kwabena Owusu and Eric Bosomtwi.
Owusu opened the scoring for the home side in the 65th minute, but Sherrif came off the bench to equalize for the Porcupine Warriors in the 70th minute.
Bosomtwi then sealed victory for the Miners with a delightful strike in the 73rd minute, beating Federick Asare in the Kotoko goal.
Despite the loss, Ogum expressed his contentment with his team’s performance, stating, “I think we played well. We created a few chances. In the first half, I think they (Gold Stars) looked tougher, stronger, and harder on us. To me, we have lost, but I am impressed with the performance.”
