Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo expressed his belief that Aston Villa was fortunate to secure a point at the Vitality Park, crediting Ollie Watkins’ late goal against Bournemouth.
Semenyo, who netted his third goal of the season, initially gave the Cherries the lead, but Leon Bailey’s goal for Villa evened the score before halftime.
Despite former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke putting Bournemouth ahead in the second half, Watkins’ late equalizer resulted in a draw between the two teams.
Semenyo acknowledged the team’s overall performance, stating, “I think we play well as a team, we’re training hard together, and I feel the manager’s tactics are coming together now. We are slowly building, going through this tough period, and hopefully, we’ll get some more wins. I mean, we were unlucky with the draw today, but it’s a point. It is better than nothing.”
Bournemouth has gathered ten points in the last five games, and Semenyo is optimistic about the team’s improvement, stating, “We are gelling as a team, cohesion is great, so we just need to keep building on this. We are in good form and hopefully pick up some more points in this tough period.”
