Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has issued a warning to Ghana Premier League clubs, cautioning them to be vigilant as his team seeks revenge against clubs that defeated them last season.
The Phobians sought to avenge their previous loss to Medeama with a convincing 3-1 victory on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium. The win was fueled by a brace from Hamza Issah and an own goal, while midfielder Godknows Djakpasu scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
Asibey expressed his excitement and satisfaction after Hearts of Oak’s triumph, stating, “The feeling is great and amazing.” He continued, “Last season didn’t go as expected, but this season, we aim to settle the score with any club that beat us last term. Our determination was high because our position on the league standings wasn’t all that good, so we needed to win, and by the grace of God, we were able to achieve that.”
With this victory, Hearts of Oak has climbed to the 13th position in the league with nine points, and they are eager to continue their positive momentum when they visit Karela United in their next game.
