Berekum Chelsea forward, Stephen Amankona, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a positive result against Hearts of Oak in their upcoming Ghana Premier League matchday 14 fixture.
The Phobians will host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday evening in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.
Amankona, who remains a key figure for the Bibires, believes his side will avoid defeat against Hearts, drawing inspiration from their recent performances.
“Just as we did against Nations FC, we will grind out a result against Hearts of Oak on Friday. It’s a 50-50 game, but we won’t return home with a defeat. I will plead with our fans to pray for the team,” Amankona stated confidently ahead of the clash.
Berekum Chelsea head into the game after a goalless draw with Aduana FC, while Hearts of Oak are looking to recover from their narrow defeat to rivals Asante Kotoko.
With 18 points, Berekum Chelsea sit 8th on the league table, just one point behind Hearts of Oak, who occupy the 7th position. A victory for either side could significantly improve their standings as they aim to keep pace with the top sides in the competition.
