Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus is contemplating the possibility that his recent outstanding performance, a hat-trick against Ludogorets, might have marked his farewell to Ajax as he is strongly linked with a move to West Ham United.
In response to questions about the potential transfer, Kudus hinted that he might have played his last game for Ajax. He stated, “Yes, I think so. But let’s see what happens in the next days. The talks are going on. We have to see if an agreement is reached in the next days.”
Kudus also expressed his admiration for West Ham United, referring to them as a “good club,” which adds to the speculation about his potential move to the Premier League team.
Reports indicate that the move to West Ham United is close to being finalized, with the club reportedly reaching an agreement with Ajax. The player’s personal terms have been negotiated, outlining a five-year contract with the possibility of an additional sixth year.
Although Ajax had initially rejected West Ham’s earlier bid for Kudus, the impending signing suggests progress in the transfer negotiations. Despite being under contract with Ajax until 2025, Kudus turned down a one-year contract extension offered in April, indicating his readiness for new challenges in his career.
Kudus had attracted interest from other prominent clubs, including Chelsea, earlier in the transfer window. Additionally, Brighton & Hove Albion had shown interest in securing his services.
With a strong track record of goals and assists, Kudus’ remarkable talent and potential impact at the highest level of football are evident. Last season, he contributed 17 goals across all competitions for Ajax, and he has already scored four goals and provided one assist this season.
