Former Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah is attributing Ghana’s inability to win an AFCON title in recent years to sheer luck.
The Stars last won the Africa cup of nation’s title in 1982 in Libya and has since come close to winning it on three occasions but has failed.
Many have blamed the GFA and the playing body for not doing enough to end the 35 year wait for an AFCON title.
But speaking exclusively to Starr FM Sports Amoah who was part of the 2010 squad that lost to Egypt in the final believes the team will end the trophy drought very soon.
“Luck is not on our side because i was in the 2010 squad in Angola when we lost to Egypt and i think that was the moment we should have won it”
“In 2015,we again lost painfully to Ivory Coast on penalties and clearly it was down to luck eluding us that is why i said that luck is not on our side now but i believe that very soon we will win the AFCON title”he added.
