The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Moroccan team of referees to officiate the decisive 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier between Nigeria and Ghana on Saturday, December 28.
Hamza El Fariq, an experienced Moroccan international referee, will take charge of the crucial encounter. He will be supported by assistants Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui, with Hicham Temsamani serving as the fourth official.
Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone has been named the match commissioner, while Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo will act as the referee assessor.
The match follows a tightly contested first leg in Accra, which ended in a goalless draw. The second leg, scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, kicks off at 16:00 GMT (4:00 PM local time).
This encounter is set to reignite the historic rivalry between the two West African footballing giants, with both teams vying for a coveted spot in the CHAN tournament. The competition offers a unique platform for home-based players to showcase their talents on the continental stage.
The eighth edition of the CHAN tournament will take place in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1–28, 2025, adding extra incentive for the two sides to secure qualification.
