Following the announcement of the verdict on their protest case against Tamale City FC, Alhaji Grusah, the owner of King Faisal, has strongly criticized Kurt E.S Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and demanded his immediate resignation.
King Faisal, having finished in 17th place in the betPawa Premier League, was officially relegated to the Access Bank Division One League.
Despite this, the club had hoped to remain in the league pending an appeal against the Disciplinary Committee’s decision regarding their protest against Tamale City FC.
Unfortunately for King Faisal, the Appeals Committee upheld the Disciplinary Committee’s ruling, confirming their relegation. This outcome has left Alhaji Grusah dissatisfied and questioning Okraku’s effectiveness as the leader of Ghanaian football, suggesting that Okraku has not made a significant positive impact.
Alhaji Grusah disclosed that he was called into a meeting with Okraku, during which the GFA president claimed that his case lacked merit.
However, Alhaji Grusah found it contradictory that Okraku offered assistance despite dismissing the validity of his case. Consequently, Alhaji Grusah called for Okraku’s resignation from the position of GFA president.
Additionally, Alhaji Grusah urged the General Secretary of the GFA to step down alongside Okraku, expressing his lack of confidence in the current leadership of the association.
“What has Kurt Okraku done for Ghana football?,” he questioned in an interview with Luv FM in Kumasi.
“He called me into his office that I had no case yet he wants to help me. Tell Kurt to resign together with his General secretary”
Through his remarks, Alhaji Grusah emphasizes his disappointment with Okraku’s leadership and firmly believes that a change in leadership is necessary for the advancement of Ghanaian football.
