Mudasiru Salifu has officially completed a permanent transfer to Al-Bukiryah FC in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking the end of his remarkable four-season journey with Kotoko.

The midfielder expressed his emotions and gratitude towards the Asante Kotoko family in a heartfelt message after finalizing the deal.

Back in 2019, Mudasiru joined Asante Kotoko following the termination of his contract with CS Sfacien under Coach Kjetil Zakariahsen. He quickly made a name for himself in the league, earning a call-up to the Black Galaxies national team. His first goal for Asante Kotoko came in the team’s impressive 3-1 away victory over Dreams FC during the opening fixture of the 2021-2022 season.

During his tenure, the 26-year-old also had two successful loan spells at Moldovan club FC Sheriff Tiraspol, where he helped them secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage, pitting him against football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. After his loan deal expired, Mudasiru joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Batin in the Saudi Pro-League, although they faced relegation.

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation on social media, Mudasiru conveyed his gratitude to the Asante Kotoko management, coaches, and teammates for supporting and guiding him throughout his four-year journey. He especially thanked His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and the Board for granting him the opportunity to play for one of Africa’s greatest clubs.

To the Kotoko supporters, he expressed admiration for their unmatched passion and support, tagging them as “AMAZING Supporters.” He cherished the moments of celebrating victories with them at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Although his time at Kotoko has come to an end, Mudasiru pledged to carry the spirit of the club with him wherever his career takes him next.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I bid farewell to this great club. For the past four years, Asante Kotoko has been my home, and its people my family. I want to first thank His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and the Board for allowing me to realize my dream of playing for one of the biggest clubs in Africa. You showed faith in me from the start and supported my development as a player and a man over these four years” He tweeted.

“To the management teams and coaches, thank you for always pushing me to improve and for instilling the spirits and values that make Kotoko so special. Your guidance shaped me on and off the pitch.”

“To my teammates – it has been an honor to take the pitch with you all. Thank you for the bond we shared and for pushing each other to do our best. I will cherish the memories of our victories and learning from our defeats together.”

“And finally, to amazing Kotoko supporters – your passion is unmatched and it has been an honor to play for you. In the highs and lows, you were always there cheering us on as the twelve men. I will never forget celebrating our victories together at Baba Yara Stadium. Thou my time has come to an end, Kotoko will forever have a place in my heart. You gave me soo much and I hope I’ve been able to give back and make you proud over these past four years. Wherever my career takes me next, I will carry the spirit of Kotoko with me. Thank You for everything” He concluded.
