Asante Kotoko made efforts to equalize before halftime, but without success. In the second half, they adjusted their lineup and introduced players like Richmond Lamptey, Enoch Morrison, and Eric Serge Zeze with the goal of scoring, yet the determined lower-tier side resisted their attacks.
A defensive lapse eventually allowed Eric Serge Zeze to level the score in the 89th minute.
